Lee Underwood is a first generation sprint car driver, who took a liking to motorsports at the age of 5. While his parents had been casual racing fans for years, it wasn't until 1996 that the family affair with racing started.

From 1996 to 2007 Lee would race through the quarter midget ranks, traveling the country week in and week out. Over the 11 year span Lee would rack up many wins, 5 track championships, and a National Championship at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway - Gasoline Alley.

After quarter midgets, Lee would spend the next 5 years racing Mini Sprints in Ohio and Indiana. The team would compete in only 20 races a year while Lee finished high school and earned his college degree from Wright State University.

In 2014, Lee Underwood Racing (LUR) was formed as the team embarked on their first full season in a Sprint car. The team would get their footing from 2014-2016, and in 2017 have a very successful year.
In 2017 Lee ran 45 races around the Midwest, with great success relative to the previous three seasons. The team would manage a 4th place finish in Bloomington Speedway Track Championship points, and a 7th in Waynesfield Track Championship Points.

The Troy, OH based LUR is poised to continue running 40+ race events each season, with a variety of series both local and national. The teams focus will remain on performance on the racetrack, as well as professional representation of it's partners.
